AJEMAC in partnership with CCOAIB and GIZ have implemented a project entitled “Participatory planning and monitoring in local policies, by enhancing citizen-centered elaboration and monitoring of Imihigo” in 3 Sectors in Karongi District.
The objectives of this project were the following:
Raise citizens’ awareness about their rights and responsibilities, as well as about possibilities for participation.
Inform and consult citizens about their priorities and points
Inform and consult citizens about their priorities and points of view for integration in Imihigo and monitoring/evaluation of local policies.
Enhance transparent planning and accountable
Enhance transparent planning and accountable implementation of local policies and development.
Strengthen cooperation and social dialogue between local government and civil society.
AJEMAC in collaboration with CCOAIB has been implementing other projects related to community development in different sectors in Karongi District:
Some poor families in Murundi sector have been given goats to help them get out of poverty.
