Mission Statement

To achieve a level of sustainable and participatory socio-economic development of the rural population

Purpose

Promote entrepreneurship and development of the agricultural value chains

Build a strong partnership amongst various actors by facilitating the establishment of autonomous structures (groups, cooperatives, unions of cooperatives,… ) in order to achieve sustainable development

Build the capacity of the local population taking into account the gender dimension

Support the local population by promoting the development of sports, cultural and leisure activities

Involve the Youth and Women in the whole process of self-promotion through professional integration, and help them fight against HIV AIDS

Background History

Created on March 15, 1970, AJEMAC – (Association de la Jeunesse en Matière Agricole et Culturelle) is is a non- political, non-religious, and not for profit making NGO, with its Headquarters in Karongi District, Rwanda. AJEMAC is subject to the provisions of Law No. 04/2012 of February 12, 2012 on the organization and functioning of national non-governmental organizations and legally recognized by Ministerial Order No. 150/11 of October 06 2008 published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Rwanda No. 3 of January 17, 2011 and also obtained final approval from RGB on 12/12/2018.

AJEMAC is a member of the Joint Action Development Forum of Karongi District, Joint Action Development Forum of Rutsiro District, CCOAIB (Council of Support Organizations for Grassroots Initiatives) and RCCDN (Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network).

Bodies of the Association

General Assembly is the supreme body of the association. It defines the general policy of AJEMAC and determines the main orientations

The Board of Directors consists of 6 members elected by the General Assembly and has all the powers of administration

The Supervisory Board consists of 3 people
